Hey guys,

Ive been collecting parts to run a he351 over the gta42(71mm) i have.

But i came acrossed a deal on he341, so i was wondering if id have any problems running a he341 instead of a he351?? Im looking for 500-600hp quick spooling setup. Ive searched all over the forum for anwsers on running a 341 as a secondary, but really cant find any anwsers.

I measured the he341 at 56/58/9 on a set of calipers.....

341 is like a hx35 just tighter exhaust housing and I believe a different turbine, but it would great for a towing setup.

Thanks for the quick reply, i had read somewhere that running the 341 would choke out, and if it was push to hard would grenade.

Oh, im also running for fuel... 5x14s, stock 181s, 4gsk, 18* timing.

I love my 351 under my Garrett.. They share the same exhaust side but you can push the 351 harder... Stick with the 351, if its not enough you can have the 4294 made into a4202 for like 400 bucks

If it's all you have build it, change to a 351 when you find one. I really like the towing twins I have but they do seem to choke a little up around 55 lbs. of boost. Towing it will make 34 lbs. of boost or a little more at 1500 rpms.

Yea, i think ima run the 341 for now until i get a 351, and if i out ever out grow the 4294 as primary. Ill have it turned into a gt4202

Did you drill the wastegate hole out to 1 inch? I put spring wastegates on all of mine for adjustability and also rotate the compressor housing down lower. I can text pictures of my setup if you are interested. You will like the 341, spool is great.

Yes sir i did drill the wastegate out to one inch....

Now i ran into a problem... My hot pipe was made for a s400, not a wastegated gt42. So, im guessing the gt42's wastegated housing is a couple inchs longer than a non-gated s400.

How would you guys go about mounting the downpipe??? Turbo is very close to the fire wall on one side.

I was thinking maybe beating the firewall back a lil with a 3lb hammer?

What turbine flange did you run on the GTA42 and A/R ratio? I'm thinking about building a HE341 over a S475/1.32 T-6 with a turbosmart 50mm external gate for my 02.

You can switch the gt42 to a standard t6 flange non gated housing and it will duplicate the S400 footprint.

Got her finished up.... They seem to spool awesome, but i havent pushed them to hard yet. I need to do some retorques on the studs first..

Finished pics....

They look real nice! What did you do with the hot pipe? And did the 3 lb hammer work out for you with the firewall?

I ended up pushing the firewall back a little with a port a power.... And i necked the downpipe to 4in right out of the turbo
