47re valve body question

Hey guys, been a long time since I've been on here. I recently bought an 01 dually needing a transmission rebuild and decided to do it myself. The part I have a question about is what the service manual refers to as the Throttle Pressure Valve. Looking at the picture in the manual makes mine look like it's broken. Can anyone confirm if it's actually broken or just made this way? I would much appreciate it.
