47rh rear seal

I'm having trouble stopping the rear seal from leaking . I have a 47rh and 241dhd . I have read somewhere that the (1998)241dhd transfer case input shaft isn't penetrating the rear seal on the 47rh. I have tried two different brand seals but both were made the same . (both leaked) The seal needs to be longer so that the t/c input will penetrate the seal . I spoke to a transmission guy who said you shouldn't have to use silicon on the t/c and trans tail housing. Anyone have any part numbers , ideas ???

corect on the 1998 tcase ,you have to change the sun gear ,on the rh trans ia about a inch longer

The sun gear is on the transfer case ? Where would you but one ? About how much are they ?
