My truck is an 04.5 with 125k miles. Bone stock. Its hunting between 1st and 2nd gear under light acceleration. I’m going to drop the pan and put governer psi solenoid and transducer in it. My question is should I adjust the bands in it? I’ve done some reading on line and get mixed answers. I forgot to ask Lavon when I picked up the parts. Thanks

Do you access to a dial face in-lb torque wrench?

Or a digital?

I had trouble with over tightening the bands using a micrometer type. I thought it was because of the breakover force it takes to make the wrench click. I went back with a dial face and it was perfect.
This last time I used a digital snap-on and it was also spot-on.
Could just be me, but I recommend a beam type, dial type or digital torque wrench to get that initial torque because of the experience I had.

Last time I adjusted my bands I used the standard inch lbs click type torque wrench. Then backed of the bands the correct number of turns.

Trans shifts great now. It can be done

I have it back together. Test drove it. Seems good. Even fixed the 1st 2nd gear hunting. That was probably the sensors though.
