48re swap?

Is there a specific year of the 48re I need to swap it into a second gen 02?

I'd say it depends on what you want to run as far as stand Alone or manual vb the cheapest route would be firepunks anteater stand alone because you don't need a special vb like suncoast or ats. If you run the earlier 48 you will need to use a tv cable but if you get a newer one (04.5-07) it has a tv motor that will be controlled by the stand alone controller. Keep in mind if you run the tv cable 48 you will have to run a cable from your tps to the trans.

My question is why 48 and the firepunk standalone aka "anteater" doesn't require a tv cable we just put them about 80% tied back.. Does need the tail shaft speed and a tps reference wire!! With a 48re the only difference you will see is how much $ you will have in it compared to a 47re... Hope this helps and good luck

To put a 48RE in an 02.(any year 48RE will work)
1. go to lowes and buy a bushing for the neutral safety switch
2. Change the rooster comb out on the VB.
