4r100 proper trans upgrades

I am new to power stokes sorry for newb questions. Searched and didn't find much. looking to build a 4R100 trans for my brother. I know it's a 7.3 with a programmer and smoked the trans. Is there a sticky or list for upgrades for say stock to 400hp. I do not know what these capable with just a programmer for hp wise. Looking to do a billet input and triple disk convertor from dpc. Valve body brands would help. Thanks in advance
