I've seen a lot of 2008 6.4's blow head gaskets.
I think they changed the gaskets after 2008 sometime.
Heres the thing though, it's not really the head gaskets that blow, it's the TTY bolts holding the heads down.
Depending on how bad it is, I've heard of some guys saying to buy a set of studs, and just put new studs in without removing everything.
I assume you would loosen all the factory bolts, but leave them just a little snug, then swap in the studs one by one. Then follow tightening procedure.
Thats how it was explained to me anyhow.
I might have stretched mine a bit... not sure. There was a few runs I did, where I hit over 60 lbs of boost, and she puked out coolant.
I put it back to stock power, went and got a coolant flush, and the coolant level hasn't budged now in 4 months.
And that is with quite a few times holding it to the floor at 40 psi boost.
So I am also faced with a decision, do the job properly, or cheap out and just do the studs, but really thats all thats wrong...
