6.9 running on one wire?

I just bought a 1983 ford 6.9 with a 4 speed in it. While looking around on the internet i found some info that said it would run off a single wire running from the battery to the ip. I was wondering if this is true and if so, how do i hook it up?

Yep, As long as you have Power to the IP solenoid to let fuel through it will run. On the IP theres a pair of Plugs on top, Power to the front Plug should allow you to run the Engine 1 wire

ok then, will this hurt anything to hook it up that way?
