94-02 engine adapter plate

Is this a transmission adapter plate? If so for what transmission?

Doesn't matter, NV4500/5600/g56 and 47/48s all have the same bolt pattern.

Nope! Not all the same!
2003-'05 NV5600 is it's own critter, it has the extra "spacer"for the revised starter location cast into the adapter.
The 1994-2002 bolt pattern has 2 bolt holes off, 1 on each side of the block's 'A' pattern, when compared to the 2003-up CR engines.

2007.5-up 6.7, with a 68RFE, has a flat top for the upper cast brace, 2 added bosses for lower cast braces and it's ~ 3/8" deeper from the transmission mounting face, to the back of the block.

That having been said, 1994-2002 all use the same adapter, the ONLY difference being in the latter half of 2001 and 2002, the NV5600 used a spacer to move the starter forward for the revised ring gear location on the flywheel.

Learn something new everyday. I don't keep tabs on CR handshaker stuff. The only reason I bother knowing 2nd stuff is because im stuck with this garbage 4500.
