Well I went to Garmons yesterday to take a ride on his new Triumph Rocket III and Rich from Doghouse Diesel was there tunin on Shane Ransom's awesomely fast truck!!

Jeff Garmon and crew built this motor and Rich had already tuned it before .. This truck has been running 6.90's in the 1/8 and High 10's in the 1/4 with only a single cp3.

Shane recently decided he wanted dual cp3's and to make 1000 if possible. Well it happened with only tuning!!! It only took Rich 7-8 pulls to dial it in.

He went from 806 HP at only 70% load and took it up to 941 HP at only 63% Load... That's well over 1000 RWHP once it hits the track and an hit full load.

A few Vids to show the fun day we had :)

This was the 874 HP run

Look at the HP gain at around the trap speed he'll be going through traps in the 1/8...

Before and after at around 100-105 mph....

curious as to why you were only seeing 63% load?

Dyno Jet with only a 5000 - 5500 lb. roller.. Plus 4.10 gears...

That truck is stupid when you load it on the street / track though!! And that was before the dual cp3's and new tuning.

thanks, any chance on getting it on a dyno that can load the motor more? and if I could ask, what kind of intake work done? milled off intake, or is that part stock?

so.... how is it accurate with a 63% load? i mean ive dyno'd alot in my day on similar situations.. truck would make close to hp number if I had it in od or biggest gear, but wouldnt make but 2/3 the tq number it should.

Well it made 940hp on Beans load dyno back when this Dunbars DynoJet showed it only made 830 hp.... So hopefully at 941 on Dunbars it'll be well over 1000 on a load cell...

Stock head I believe.. Def still had stock plenum on it...

It's a decompressed motor also.. Garmon style

That'd be a question for Rich at DogHouse Diesel.... I know it made more on a load dyno at Beans like said above... Rich made significant gains yesterday!!
Can't wait to see the times on it..

2431Tq on a Dynojet 248........Not Possible without spray.

i am also one who does not believe in as much HP difference as you stated between load cell and inertia. With a good tune the HP should only be off a few between them and the Torque would be a substantial difference.

It is well known that on a DynoJet 248 series that killer torque numbers like that do not happen without help.I have seen some big torque numbers on the smaller 224LX with load control.

Nice HP number on the former Dunbar dyno!

I put my life on the fact that there was NO nitrous!!
If i'm lying then I'm dying!!

As for accuracy of the TQ numbers, well I can't speak on that.. But the numbers were what they were...
The old tune that made 830 did make 940 on a load cell... Not sure of all the differences (weather, temps, etc.).

Like I said though, it had been running 6.90's in the 1/8 with the old tune...it weighs 7000+
I'm sure the math works out..

I can promise you Jeff and Rich would be the last people on earth to claim fuel only and try to lie about it on the net..

Swole...
I never said anyone was lying, lets get that fact correct.
What I am saying is the torque number is not correct, thats different.
To make that kind of torque on a 248 the truck would have had to make max power at 2000rpm,,which I and many others have not seen on this type of jet.To get a number like that the charger would have had to light instantly off idle and the graph would have been way different looking. You will not get most any big single or twins to even think about getting ramped up and lit much before 2000rpms let alone make max power there.

Many of us have seen a nitrous assisted trucks light the charger(s) that early with a spool shot or a progressive controller that allows for some down low to help spool the charger(s).

10-4 My bad.

I just wanted to make sure nobody thought the truck had nitrous when it doesn't.
I do agree the tq numbers are too high... Not sure why but the Hp numbers on dunbars have always lined up with my track numbers, so i think the hp is correct..

nice car roy glad to see things are going well. nice numbers on the truck its not as easy as it looks to put down big numbers
