97 cummins. new truck :)

Im thinking about getting a 97 cummins. has 250k on it and its an auto how hard is it to convert to a manual? Is it worth the bother. There is rust on the truck. Not too bad. Its ext cab 4x4. is it worth 4000? or what do you guys think? Thanks in advance

whoops. sorry guys didnt see someone was asking the same question. How much should the swap be. In a range of give or take $500

depends on how patient you are....I was pretty patient and got everything for $800 plus the cost of my clutch.

4,000 don't sound bad if it don't have any problems. Even if the body's hit, I haven't seen anything go that low (at least in my area) in a while. Me and a guy I used to work for did a 5 spd swap in a 98 xcab 12v. Sometimes pedals can be hard to locate and I guess that is a problem a few people run into doing the swap. But all in all, it wasn't too big of a pain. Is say its Def worth it though. There's a thread on here on the same topic, go back a few more pages and you'll find it. Good luck
