Just curious - with automatic equipped trucks, do you guys let it shift or leave it in one gear?

Mine is auto and the shift pionts from 1st to 2nd are a little too close for my truck to shift so I do it manually. I am reving to 4400rpm or so. thats my reason.

I manually shift 1,2,3 then let it do the downshifting. I'll unlock the converter when I think it needs to downshift..

I or my truck doest downshift at all. I stay in 2nd gear. I keep the rpms high and it doesnt at the end. I havent looked at the speedo yet to even know what the speed is. Im too busy watching the rpms

yes it is just spinning at the end. But other reasons I have to stay in 2nd and keep the rpms up is cause its an auto and it has a BIG singe on it with a lot of water. If I dont I cant keep the turbo lit. Its bad enough when it usually takes around 75 ft or so to get it lit!

I have some more, just not uploaded yet. They all start the same. I already know that I need a higher stall in the converter

looked like a good pull really. I think it takes some trucks longer than that to spool up. do you know the guy talking. if so ok, but if not what a assbag does he no a auto truck you can just take off? none the less I shift mine 1-2 -3 with od off then when it starts pulling my rpm's below 3k i downshift to 2 and let it spin. I have the same problem as u but worse I cant spool untill like the 100ft mark by then the sled is halfway up and im done. cant really see it here because its dark but you can hear it.

that was my first ever pull 2. I left it in 2nd and was at like 3800rpms should have went to drive I lost alot of wheel speed by staying in second.
