Im Thinking about putting a AAM 11.5 out of a 05 dodge into my Superduty, Plan is to modify dodge hubs to ford 8x170mm bolt pattern. My questions, is the 11.5 really that much stronger, (ive broken 3 10.5 pinions is why im asking) and do you think the strength of the modified hub would be compromised enough to cause problems down the road?

I have '05 ford wheels on my '02 chevy. Front axle is a '05 ford HP60 and rear is the original chevy 11.5 AAM with 2" thick steel adapters on each side. It has approx. 20K miles on it with the ford axle/wheels and no issues. With 4 inches of adapter on the rear chevy axle the rear tire track is only 1/4" wider than the front axle...1/8" per side.
