Acert C15 475hp Injector & Turbo Question

My truck started its life as a 475hp Acert and I had it up rated to 550hp, well that didn't do squat, so I went to PDI to do there magic. That made a difference to say the least.

Leads me to my next question. I have searched and read that the true 625hp acerts have bigger injectors & a little bigger flowing high pressure side turbo(one of the two tubros). Cam is different also which is why a 625hp tune file looses power in a475hp acert. But 625hp injectors should make more power in a 475 cat right?

Has anyone put the 625hp turbo and injectors on a 475hp and noticed a difference?

The engines loose power with that tune because they dont have the same injectors, the fuel is cut back in the ecm to account for the injectors, so when you put it on an engine with smaller injectors it really milks the power.

There was a 5EK that was the same way, the true 550hp versions use the 58 injector so they have the fuel cut back in the ecm to stay at 550, one of these with a cam and a 600 file will put around 800hp to the wheels.

The LP turbo is bigger on the 625HP engines than the others, I dont know that switching injectors is the best idea, if you have a set that is running good I wouldnt get rid of them, cat is having major issues with reman parts being any good.

i second the reman parts statement that was said above. when they initially flashed you to 550 was it just a horsepower increase or hp and torque?

475 and 550 are both 1850 torque with factory settings.

Is it running hot now? I thought the accert turbos would support near 800hp.

I'm curious about this. We have uprated some overhauls lately without iron changes.
What does the "58" refer to? This isn't the first time I've seen it described that way.

Not at all, running like a top. Always looking for the next step I guess, lol.

Was just curious if anyone knew what difference there was swapping the acert 625hp injectors and LP Turbo onto a acert 475hp , if any.

I have searched a few forums and haven't found any posts from anyone that has done it

The most common injector is the 10R0957, there are some other variations on this number, but this injector is used in almost everything including the C16. The 10R0958 is the next step above the 57.

If you were to installed these in place of the 57s you would gain around 100hp wih no other changes. The other injector you will hear of is the 59, even though it is one number above the 58 the flow is increased by a large amount. There are balance sets of these running around that are supporting 1500hp.

So are you saying the 958's can be swapped into an mxs 475hp and gain 100hp with out changing injector codes or flt #'s?

I looked up my Cat parts by my Serial Number and it shows my injector as 10R-1273 and according to the list in the link I posted it shows that injector in the 550hp engines, mine came as a 475hp, I did have cat re-rate to 550hp. Does that mean the 475hp & 550hp both use same injectors?

no, the MXS injectors and 58's aren't that much different. If you want more HP go with a bigger tune. Don't waste your time with the 625 turbo, buddy has a set and he said the only difference was the material the compressor wheel.

57's 2.82 kg/min
58's 3.107 kg/min
59's 4.7 kg/min
1000hp C18 injectors 5.50kg/min

Many acert 475 engines are 550s that are spec'd as 475. Had to make a call to cat over one not long ago.

Why not go all out and pull the injectors and chargers from a C18. I know they are common in the MT865 and from my experience a damn strong powerplant.

The turbo won't work unless you really turn the screws on a C15, and depending on the build they could use the same injectors that are already being used.
