I picked up cat turbo today havent got to measure it my calipers are at work. Any one know the specs on a cat p/n tc7685 s/n c4ds010h0288a 084? I am curious to know if this is anything worth using because i got it for free and there is no shaft play but I havent got to measure it yet. thanks

Looks like it came from a Cat 3406B, and is very likely a Borg Warner unit, but I can't give you anything beyond that...

Well I did some measuring
comp.
ind. 69.3
exd. 99.04

exh
ind. 99.4
exd. 85.02

a/r .94

So I am guessing unless I can find a new turbine wheel this thing will be way too big on the exhaust side to spool as a single and a too tight on the compressor side to use as a primary? Is this correct?

Well it looks like the P/N should actually be a 7c7685
which can be two different borgwarner turbos depending on how new it is
(They superceded it)
The old number is
196548r
The new is
178104

The model # is S4D
