If u took your block to a machine shop and had the head threads done to 14mm then the guy said that they might have been drilled into the water ports. Is it beyond salvage or can it be fixed? Just asking?

It's salvageable, just fill the head solid and redrill

Some small block gas engines are like this from the factory, just put thread sealer on it and I bet you'll be fine.

Thats pretty common when doing 14mm, the shop is not at fault.
