Can anyone tell me which catagory the ARP 247-6303 rod bolts would fall into from the following chart? Are they considered a L19 material?

Information on the different rod bolts available:

80% Yield Torque

Stock Cummins Rod Bolt, 13,407 Ft-lb clamp
4340 HD Rod Bolt, 14,514 Ft-lb clamp
8.3% Stronger than stock
L19 HD Rod Bolts, 16,430 Ft-lb clamp
23% Stronger than stock

I ordered a set for my 12V build but now im wondering if I should have held out for better ones? A1, H11 ect....

So are the ARP 247-6303 bolts L19? I can only find the one part # from ARP so i'm guessing those are the only ones they make for the Cummins?

We run ARP's in all of our engines(without billet rods). I've only used one set of A1's(they were free) and didn't have a problem. But the ARP's appear to be a lot higher quality.

Longhorn on the other hand has had A1 problems... IIRC it was on only a ~700 HP engine.

You will be fine with ARP's

I got your PM about this.. I haven't got a definite answer but I think they are the same item.
