Was he running more timing & higher RPM's than most in the mod class? It sounds nasty to me. Much more "agressive" than the other mod trucks....before he blew.:doh:

Im guessing they have toned the RPM's down a bit to make the motors last a bit longer?

He lost 2nd gear in the 5 speed, I think 7700 was the reading on the tach. I remember watching a rod fall out as they towed it off the track.

That video dose it no justice at all some what of an un-nerving sound was made that day.

The last recorded rpm on the data logger was 7710. Second gear let go in the trans somewhere in the low to mid 5k range and the motor went to the moon.

Parts of the engine were found in later in the winter while the truck was being turned in to a mod class puller.
