my 200,000 mile 12 valve has blow by, it loses about one quart of oil every 10000 miles. there is smoke that comes out of the oil fill. does anyone have a video as to show how much is too much? :bang

You know checking the oil fill tube for smoke ain't how you check blow by on a 12v, right?

why would you waist time posting that and not tell how to check it? it also comes out of the blow by tube...

Mine goes through a gallon every 1k between the two leaks and I'm hoping a valve seal. :rockwoot:

I'd Prolly worry a little more about your 10,000 mile cycle of your engine oil......:...

i change every 5000. so half quart every 5000 miles. i now only commute 5 minutes a day so im going to start doing oil changes every 4 months instead.

One of the shops I worked at had a manometer for testing blowby. All I know about it was, that it was homemade, that it was not really precision-they used a known bad engine to see where it was then checked a low mile, broken in engine to set the range.

just curious since on the oil subject, does anyone ever do oil analysis??
