Well, I got my old camshaft out today and was about to have the machine shop press the gear on to my new 178/208 when I saw that I have broken teeth on the cam gear. None of the other gears inside of the timing cover have any signs of damage. Truck ran fine and probably would've continued to do so without me knowing about this. New gear is being overnighted from Cummins. Tooth is missing in two different spots and I can't find anything with a magnetic pickup tool. Think the teeth will stay in the bottom of the pan? Heck, they might have came out with an oil change already.

First one was a foreign object second one was the first broken tooth That sucks but awesome it kept going and didn't skip a tooth on timing!
