Built 48re problems

Ok so I have several issues going on with my transmission. It flares up and pretty much free revs when shifting 1st through 3rd. Sometimes it will shift fine sometimes but others not so much. It has become increasingly worse. When I come to a stop it will feel like it disengages and will roll backwards if on any type of slope. But, will buck in and out of gear and move fine again. Sometimes it will rattle for 2-3 seconds and vibrate before it goes back in gear. Converter will vibrate when downshifting in tow/haul from 3-2 shift. Once I hit overdrive on the interstate, it feels like it wants to kick in and out, but only from the 55-65mph range. Once I'm over that its fine.
Any solutions or potential problems?

Not a trans guru by any stretch but a good place to start checking is the fluid. Color and smell?

Check the plug on the TV motor.
