I race my 1996 f350 at a track closest to home with 315/75/16 cooper stt... similar to toyo mt's. Ive got consitant 1.90 60', managed a 1.81 fastest.
Ive drove a few hours to the next track to race there and they wont let me race because its a nhra rule saying "spinning mud tires removes the rubber laid down" last time i checked my tires lay awesome strips when spinning.... even though they dont spin when in 4x4.
Is there such a rule or is the tech guy just being a jerk?

Spinning MT and AT tires can and do tear up patches off the starting line...happens all the time. Whether the track allows them or not is up to them. It's their private property and some tracks spend a fortune of starting line prep that they don't want destroyed.

Nope, up to the track. Just ask them to line you up out of the groove, and you'll be fine. Extra rubber down won't do knobby tires much good, so just line up there and do a launch.

No to mention they wad the rubber up in the groove and make it bumpy as all hell.
