hi guys im having an issue with 4x4 this summer i had bad vibration while driving and turned out my transfer case was so lose it was ready to come out !! tightened it back up and good to go now this winter im plowing my yard and under presure i hear a clunking /skipping sound only in 4x4 and pressure applied and with truck alone in 4x4 if accelerating slow it doesent do it ! i just rebuilt the front shaft with cardine joint and still the same ! any info would be great before i start tearing into front diff and transfer case ! thanks

It's likely the chain is stretched and slipping on it.

This may sound weird but a buddy of mine fought a problem like this for a couple of years. Different transfers and still the same problem. Ended up the shifter somehow got out of adjustment and wasn't engaging completely letting it jump in and out of gear. Worth looking at.
