Has anyone done this? I've heard you can cut the cowl back to the windshield support therefore you can lift your head straight off the motor (leaving the studs in). I want to do it while im gutting the truck, just wondering if anyone has any pics.

Thanks,

Ethan

I think it would be very difficult to lift the head off with all the studs in.
You have to lift it perfectly straight which is hard to do with the motor still in the truck. It's hard to do with the motor on a stand!

Here is a pic that shows it removed not the best picture but you can see how much room it gives you. And when you put the wipper valance back on it is hard to tell it's missing.

I made a head puller that bolts to the middle of the head.If you jack up the cab in front of the cab mount just enough to you can take the head off and put it back on with the studs staying in.I,v done it on 3 diff, trucks I,ll take a pic. of the puller and post it in my gallery.
