CR 5.9 oil by-pass block off?

So I am wondering has any one eliminated the oil by-pass valve on a CR?

Any down sides to plugging the bleed off port? If you have how did you do it?

Depending on how wild you're getting with the truck and what the filter flows, there's a chance you can blow the filter up and make a very large mess.

I guess it is possible. Not going to be going any real time between fluid and filter changes either.
