Have a little problem with my crank gear. One of the timing case bolts backed out and went through the gears this made the crank gear shear half way through the key. Obviously this knocked my cam out of time. Trucks been running like this for awhile, but i was getting slight intake valve contact.

Anyone have any opinions on running an offset key on the cam or would I be better off pulling the motor and swapping gears trying to avoid having to pull motor.

I'd run an off-set cam key and weld the crank gear in-frame before I'd pull the motor: split the old crank gear free from the crank, press on a new crank gear, and then weld it to the crank so it doesn't shear the pin again... when power exceeds 700ish HP...
