Are the Cummin's head gaskets equivalent to the marine style head gaskets now? I read that they apparently used to be different but because the marine style had much better sealing characteristics all of them are designed the same now. Is this true?

If it is not what is the difference between the two?

Thanks
Adam

so their is no longer a need to specify you need a "MARINE" headgaket anymore as long as you are ordering directly from a cummins dealer?

yup that is correct, i checked the numbers a while back, for my ESN, and a marine 370 that was in the shop, they were the same numbers for a standard size, .10 over, and .20 over.

when exactly did they change over? Before i bought my truck the head and head gasket had been replaced. just wondering which gasket it has.
