these are pictures of my oil pump, any idea's on what cuased it to break.

Fixed the picture link for ya. I got no clue as to what could cause this.

never seen that before. bad cast? did something get in the gears and press on it? check all the bolts in the cover any missing? your sig doesent say,but did you put a cam in recently? my pure guess is something got in the gear and it acted like a press.check all the teeth on both gears look for hack marks.good luck. from the pict it almost looks like the teeth have a narl mark on the outside you can see a bur of some sort.that may of started grinding on a bolt just before it went into the gear?
