Different gear ratio's for 1st ger in 47RH?

I was told there were other options(2.72) for first gear in the 47rh. Standard is 2.45. Has anyone tried them?

Why would you want a gear that tall with a convertor? Besides what you do to 1st affects 2nd too.

Thanks. I'll break out the calculator this evening and convert these numbers to rpm to compare.

With 3.5 dif gears a bit lower first gear would be a blessing when towing. A slightly lower 2nd really wouldn't matter and the jump to 3rd is no problem. If towing 2nd locked to 3rd unlocked is a small step. At the track it spins when it hits 3rd gear anyway so I don't see a down side unless the gears available are weaker.

Looks like the only info might be from the man himself. I sent an email to Dave Goerend and I'll see if he can shed some light on it. Would be better to have another gear stuffed in there, but this one works and is trouble free so far so i won't kick the sleeping dog.
