Do I want to have valve seats inserted in my head?

I have a '95 head that has cracked valve seats.

Would it be a horrible idea to have new valve seats machined into it? I've heard of the OEM insert valve seats dropping; would aftermarket seats have that same problem, or would there be a way to avoid it?

I'm not sure that the head's okay; the valve seats all have cracks, then there are small cracks between the intake ports and injector bores on each cylinder, which I hear are pretty normal. It pressure tests with flying colors.

Is that price for a Cummins head? What would the price be for the head minus springs and keepers and retainers?

It seems that nobody's ever bothered with inserting valve seats into a Cummins head... Or it seems like it's such a non-issue that it isn't even noteworthy...
