I have an allison 1000 bolted to it now. Just need to find a controller to shift it. ATS is suppose to have one soon. But they've had one "coming soon" for quite a while. We'll see.
The hp potential of the DT is night and day over the 5.9. A properly tuned DT will do around 1k more hp than any 5.9 at this time.smokin binder said:I'm putting one in a Super Duty, and must say that the 466 will fit in the SD better than the 97 & older. I'm still working on getting the engine, it's hard with 4 kids.
Along the lines of power, the ones with a P-pump(93-95) can use all the same go fast goodies a 12V Cummins can. There's even a couple places that have EDM injectors, reground cams, & exotic performance stuff. One sled puller guy told me that the DT466-P can spin to about 4500 without rod bolts or any other internal mods. If you dont want to hack up your firewall, try a DT360. They are more stout than a 12V Cummins, and much cheaper to buy. I think they are about an inch taller & an inch longer than the 5.9 Cummins. Powersnorter's truck, if it's that black one, isnt even the p-pumped 466, and he's making some wild power. Is this his?
smokin binder said:Not too off topic. Your dump truck has the P-pump in it. You wont notice very much with just the star wheel adjustment. Go in there and slide the plate. While you're in there, you can tighten the gov springs 3 clicks each. The same pump mods for a Dodge/Cummins will work on yours. My old work truck is a 94 DT466, and I put in a 0 plate(it's actually the very one in my avatar), tightened the gov springs, advanced the timing, adjusted the star wheel a little(to keep smoke reasonable), and str8 piped it. Here's a vid of it:

Keep in mind it weighs 27k in the vid.
I think so, it's an I6 and has a ton more displacement per cylinder.9 LIVES said:with only being 22 cubes more than a ford powerstroke will it really be any easier to squeeze hp out of it?
