duramax exhaust info needed

I was wanting to make a custom exhaust on my duramax. I was wanting to make a short side pipe that comes out near the passenger side door on the extended cab portion. I was hoping to use either 4 or 5 inch straight pipe. Will the an exhaust that short cause any problems? Will there be any back pressure issues? thanks to all for their input.

Seen a few done this way and the only side effect I see is it's a little difficult to keep the right rear wheel clean.

you want as little backpressure as possible
