duramax motor in a 05 chevy 1500

my buddy has a 05 reg cab short bed 2wd 1500 for a year now. its got the 5.3 with tune, intake, and exhaust. hes looking at ditching this motor and swapping in a 07 lbz motor. hes got some coin aside for fabing up some parts. already has the motor with 60k on it.

what will he need to make this swap successfull?

Sorry I don't have valuable input, but interested to see how this pans out.

All the electronics from the donor. Steering column, gauge cluster, different driveshaft and rear axle. Would assume a modded fuel system, starting with the tank up to the cp3. Intercooler, radiator, the list goes on. There's lots of little things Im sure I'm forgetting. Lots of good swap info on the DMAX forums also.

He will also need to either build a new trans tunnel or do a body lift. I'd vote for building a new trans tunnel. Also you'd need the dmax rad support.

he plans to start this within the month or so, ill give him a list of everything else hell need. he got the motor from a friend.
