Easier starts?

my 4440 does not want to start the best, it never did. Is there anything i can do to make it start easier? the neighbor's doesn't start that goos either

ether anyone? Seriously, if it doesn't start that well, there are several things that you have to trouble shoot. Usually, the most common problem on diesels is that they suck air from somewhere on the fuel system. Most often times, you will find a hose that is cracked or an obvious fuel leak. I've seen some rubber hoses that will not leak on the exterior, but can still suck air. When's the last time the valves were ran..? How many hours on the tractor? If it's mechanical injection, when's the last time you checked pump timing?? Lot's of maintenance and upkeep to do.. Hope this helps.
