isnt there a kit or DIY deal to utilize the thing for an exhaust brake?
Why does everyone gut it?

Just seems like a waste to me if u can use the darn thing. Or am i missing something?

Yes you can make the EBPV into a "exhaust Brake" to do so it costs like $25. I have the parts already but yet have not found time to do it. Go here for some instructions: EBPV BRAKE
From what I've read if you gut it you will slightly reduce EGTs by 50-75* and possilby gain 1 psi of boost.
Personally I rather have more braking powers than any little piece of performance, these old trucks don't stop to well.
Hopefully this is helpful, Good luck!

Thanks, thats what I was thinking. I have to completly agree with you. For 25 bucks, why wouldnt ya do it?!
Thanks!
:Cheer:

the turbo spools a bit faster and i've had a few higher mileage trucks that the valve sticks on. if it's clean and towing and braking are more important than all out performance than by all means you should use it where else can you get a brake that cheap ?
