Looking for some help/service. I have two transfer case couplers. One 23 spline and one 29 spline. Need em cut in half and welded together with possibly a sleeve over it. I could weld it but im pretty sure I wouldn't get it anywhere near perfectly in line. Tha ks in advance. Hope someone can help

Your best bet to get the perfectly straight is to chuck them up and machine them and a sleeve to where you will have a slight press fit between the three pieces. Then weld it and hope it stays straight and doesn't warp.

Atleast, that's what I would do.

Unfortunately I dont have access to a lathe.

Only to cut them accurately will have to be in a lathe and part the two. I can do it. You will need to provide me with good measurements.

Not exactly sure what or why your doing this. But couldn't you just replace the input shaft in the transfer case with the correct spline count?

You would need to bore the case for the bigger bearing and input.

Guess I don't know what case is being used. All the transfer cases I've had I just swapped inputs.
