Nice! This is my first set of compounds! Im so ready! I wonder if mine will move some since i have orings instead of fire rings?
What size injectors are you running?

I have 5x20 from infinite performance.

Awesome!
That should be a bad setup! Itd hard not to want to go bigger then i am. I have to keep reminding myself that i use truck and its not just a toy haha

After a hot retorque, and valve adjustment, your good to go.

How long should i wait to check them again? And do i need to be easy on it for a while? Ive always heard i need to dive it easy a week or so and retorque until they dont move anymore

Keeping these things alive more than makes up for the slight loss of low rpm torque.
His smaller secondary will make more than enough cylinder pressure early on.

Yes he’ll have still good torque with the small turbos. I was mainly referring to start-up, hazing at idle, pre-boost smoke, spooling. I’ve been running 18.25:1 for years now. Very noticeable improvement over when I was running 17:1. The higher compression eliminated the idle haze I had with 5x20s.

I did notice more haze idling yesterday with the 5x14's then before but it wasn't too bad.

I do the first re-torque after a few start-ups, then another after a week of driving. After that I check them periodically. Depends on your O-ring protrusion too. If you’re .008”-.010”, then a couple of re-torques may do it. If you have more protrusion, it may take more torques.

Is that week of driving very easy with keeping the boost really low?

If you want to be really careful, just dont pull it down hard under boost. Is it stick or auto?
After one good hot retorque your good, another one after a couple hundred miles if you want to overdo it.
Put your compounds on and let it rip.

Cool. Its a stick truck

Been busy lately. Havent gotten enough miles on it to recheck the torque on the studs again yet. I plan on doing it one evening this week. I did install all of my new gauges this week so ill try and get some pics up of everything. I should be able to finish up my traction bars tomorrow and get them installed. I also tool alot of pics of the Evil Fab compound kit, so I'll try and start a review of everything soon too.

Started getting the traction bar mounts tacked up today. Realized the place where i got them left out a couple pieces for one front mount, so it will be a few more days until we get them on

Got the rear mounts welded up and ready for paint. Got the front mounts tacked up and fitted and ready for final welds. These Savage Fab mounts are top notch and should definitely more then hold up up to anything I can through at them! The owner is a super guy! After talking to him, we found out we had them put together wrong and all the pieces were there. I should have everything ready to install in the next couple days.

Those look really good! Good MIG welds!

Are you going to go with twins still?

I wish I could say those are my welds! I can weld fine, just not that pretty! Thats my buddy's welds. He builds late model race cars and trucks for a living. They would have looked even better but he was welding them outside and the wind kept blowing some of the gas. He's ine of the best welders ive ever seen!

Oh yeah. Should do a retorque this week and hope to have these traction bars on in the next couple days. Then the compounds are finally going on! Everything is here so its been so hard walking by the box everyday not using them! Haha

Got the front mounts welded up today and im taking the brackets to get powder coated tomorrow. Then i will mount them and build the bars hopefully next couple days. My using 1.25" heim joints and 2" dom .250 wall tubing for the bars. Should hold anything I can throw at them!
