I've been hinting at the way these "services" work for over 2 years now, so it's no surprise, here.

There's nothing difficult about programming a VIN, or even a whole new O/S into the ECM, especially with the equipment these guys supposedly have.

I mean, typically an FCA dealer can do a total reflash on a module in an hour, you're telling me WEEKS for these gee whiz bang module "rebuilders"?

Not buying it. LOL

So this happened. They shipped it two days after I filed with my back. I had to sign for it.

Very very suspicious its a brick.

I guess I will find out tonight.

You never know until you try it, chances are they know you're already pissed, what's sending you a bad module going to help, at this point?

BTW, I wouldn't put it on, or do a thing until you get the okay to.
If you are refunded, technically, they can say you defrauded them, if they so chose to.

You know, the old "we shipped it, then he cancelled the order" routine.
By signing for it, you acknowledged responsibility for it.

I have the documentation showing I contacted the bank before they shipped it. I was going to hang it long enough to see if it will run and then contact the bank.

You're running a manual transmission, or a standalone/FMVB automatic?

Went and looked at your Fummins thread and unless you're running a standalone or FMVB, this ecm won't run the transmission.

A 4931973, which is for a 2006 6 speed manual, doesn't have the hard components, internally, to run a 48RE automatic.

I hadn't noticed that it wasn't a 1980 which is what I ordered.

I ordered the 1980, then provided a manual VIN when they said they couldn't program the VIN I asked for.

The trans is a 47re driven by an anteater pro.

Literally just installed it. It had every code in the book on it. I cleared them and only the 5 returned for the circuits I never installed like grid heaters, Fuel level etc. I test drove it 7 miles and it didn't do anything wrong.

The first 30 seconds of idle were a little odd, but it's 28° here and that's to be expected I suppose.

Im going to put some miles on it this week before I put a tune on it.

im going thru the same thing on an 06 right now. If its an auto truck with an anteater does it matter what PCM i order?
 
Typical auto electronics reman place. We tried a couple places for reman actuators for the turbos. Both places would only "reman" actuators that functioned. In other words they did nothing to them other than clean them up. Most of the actuators they did do for me were replaced on my dime with cummins units. NEVER AGAIN. Honestly doubt they ever opened them up given how many failed and the requirements for them to reman.
