Fuel shutoff solenoid help

Alright I did something wrong when I put my stock fuel plate to slide it back. The truck starts up fine but won't shut off without me pushing this metal rod in? What'd I do wrong?

just put it back in and it will work just fine

Yeah it never had that grey thing just that rod? so i need to push the rod up under the shutoff solenoid?

You might have the rod out of alignment a little and it's binding.

I just didnt have it the shutoff solenoid I got it working. I appreciate the help!
