help with disabling speed controller

I am posting this for a buddy of mine who has an 07 Ram 2500 with the 5.9.

He is looking for a way to disable the speed controller as he seems to run out of steam on the top end of a run down the strip. He tried using the smarty but it erased the VIN number on the truck computer, so he is looking to go in a different direction.

Any ideas?

Pull the ABS fuse.

Or, turn the key forward (to the start position) and this should kill a few systems (HVAC, ABS, ect). This this may "hicup" for a moment and you'll lose power for a fraction of a second and things come back online.

Use a different down loader to adjust for a different tire size (smaller)
 
I was told by my buddy that this is a problem specific to the 07s.
