I found a local 2004 dodge 2500 hemi nv4500, just wondering what the differences are from diesel one? It comes with a bellhousing but no shift tower.

I've read the gasser NV4500 has a 1 1/8 input instead of the 1 1/4. The internals are also built on the light side. That's just what i've read tho. Correct me if the info is wrong.

I'm running a older nv4500 out of a gasser. I upgraded to the 1 3/8 shaft. But the output shaft is smaller. The output shaft is actually the same spline as a Auto on the 2nd gens.

2001 and up NV4500s from all V-8s are identical to a diesel NV4500.
All have the 29 spline output, the larger 5th gear and the same bell bolt pattern.

The only things different are the bell housing, input (1-1/8" vs. 1-1/4") and the bearing retainer.
They even use the same actual input bearing, race and caged bearing on the main shaft, behind the input.

The square top-style shift tower interchange is 1998-2002 (2nd gen) and 2003-2005 (3rd gen) on NV4500s only.

Mark.
