On my newly built pulling tractor I have about 12 hooks on it after a complete build with new pistons, bearings, cam etc. I'm running mineral oil with
some Lucas break-in additive. I want to change to synthetic but I'm wondering how long I should run it to break in before I switch. I tried to do a plateau finish on the cylinders. I honed them with 220 grit stones then lightly with 400 grit. I'm done pulling for the winter so I'm thinking about changing it in the spring before I start again. Would that be too soon?
