The tops of the pistons?
I would like to decrease the amount of compression a little bit, but I don't want it so low that it won't start without ether.
If I have say .010" removed from the block just to "Square it up", and then remove say .035" from the tops of the pistons...will it be too much?
I am concerned about the combustion chamber of the piston, and the amount of piston-to-valve clearance.
Or...should I just deck the block to square it up, coat the tops of the pistons, and call it good? Again...I'm worried about the compression ratio being too high this way thou...

Tim, (Dapilot)....Gene, (Weweld)....Josh, (Boggin350)....Jeremy, (Lubeowner)...any idea's???? Thanks

.035 seems like a lot to me. I am taking a total of .018 off, (.025 - .007 from the deck and heads being blocked) and that should be enough. Have you done the math to find the CR with that much off? Also Keating Shelly, and THE Jeff Garmon told me this weekend that they never coat any of their pistons, as its a waste of $$$$. Just a thought.

I would have to say a total of .020 max

Are you going to street drive the truck ??

Well I decided NOT cut the tops of the pistons, but still having them coated.

Running out of time for this....
