HPOP failure?

A friend of mine has a 03 6.0. Apparently it started throwing the check engine light, so he took it in for service. They are condemning the HPOP from what he tells me. The dealer also said they're seeing this more often now.
Any of you run into this issue? That can't be a cheap fix.

I have heard of problems on the 05+ trucks having a bad o-ring on the hpop fitting.
Also read about a few lpop failures on high hp trucks

the 03's dont have the quick connect fitting, they use a J tube
pull the IPR valve out and look and see if you have metal debris on the screen.
More then likey you will need a new HPOP and j tube
and its a not fun to yank the intake on the 03 's vrs the newer models with the u shaped intake
