I accidentally went 11.26 so now I am building a roll bar. I'm a pretty large fellow, so I pushed the main hoop to approx. 4" behind my helmet with the seat about as far forward as I can comfortably drive the truck. The door bar is tough, where it sits in these pictures it is deforming the map pocket in the door and touching the power seat controls.

Nothing is welded out yet, so now is the time to make changes if needed. Do you think it will pass tech?

The outriggers are 2"x3"x.120 wall rectangular tubing and the rest is 1.75x.120 tubing.

My main concern is the door bar. If I use a more traditional straight design, I can't get in the truck because of my height. I cant use a swing-out because of how far back the main hoop is. (I ordered a competition engineering swingout kit, but the instructions say that in order for the kit to be legal it has to be within 8" of the main hoop AND 8" of the "A" pillar bar, it takes 11.5" to clear the "B" pillar of the door opening.)

Some guys locally are saying the door bar needs to be one contiguous piece, that the coped joints are likely to fail tech. Illogical to me, but that doesn't mean they aren't right. I've got a call in to the tech dept at our track, hopefully they will call back soon, I want to get this thing done asap!

I never heard back from the tech dept at the track so I build a single piece door bar.

I learned one thing today... My vertical up MIG technique sucks. I should have taken the time to TIG weld it, would have looked a lot nicer.

One last picture unless someone has a specific question.

Looks good, I have the same cage in mine (kit from s&w) and my door bars are a little low on my shoulder per the rule book. I've ran it at a couple different nhra tracks and they have never questioned it. It will only get picky if you went to get the cage certified that it would be a problem (full cage and 9.99 or less). This is on a mid 6 truck in 1/8.
