Injection pump lock washer

Is the P-pumps lock washer a fancy lock washer that must be purchased through bosch or cummins? Just curious if it's a generic metric size or if I need to order it through a diesel shop?

I'm getting ready to try changing the timing for the first time. And wanted to buy a couple lock washer to ensure I can use a fresh one every time I change the timing. Might take a couple times to get the timing where the engine likes it best.

I use class 10 ones from the hardware store. Only have had timing slip once due to not cleaning the shaft very well.

Just snug the gear back on with no washer at first check the timing and if your happy with it pull the nut put on the washer and torque it. Then re check timing. It shouldn't move though without pulling the gear again.

Then you only need to use one washer no matter how many times it takes to get the timing where you want it.
