Installing Spicer 7 into an International

Having some problems getting my tranny to line up. 1991 International Boxtruck. Has Spicer 7speed Tranny ES-065-7A. We fixed it, put it on the tranny jack, have it up in place. The imput shaft is so far into the hole and just stops. We tried turning the motor over, turning the back shaft to align the teeth. Just frustrated. Anyone have any tips? Is there something im missing? Ive put tons of trannys back into trucks. This is just an oddball that im working on. !!!!!!!!!!!
