Is the 96 ECM same as 97 ECM

Are the 96 dodge ram 12V cummins ECM and 97 dodge ram 12V cummins ECM same? Both are aut.transmission and 4wd.
Any information are welcome.

I'm guessing you mean a PCM. There's a part number on the PCM. I would say as long as it has the same part number on the tag you'd be good.

If you are, indeed, speaking of PCMs, then yes and no. The PCMs are the same. The PCM harness is slightly different..
I just recently put a '96 auto PCM and full PCM harness into my '97 auto. I had to change 2 plugs: Crank sensor plug connector was different, as well as one of the three large plug connectors on the top-left of firewall.
Aside from that, everything else was plug-n-play.

Ok. Thanks for the information. I don´t have original PCM in my truck and the remanufactured PCM only have smal lable in it with remanufactured parts number(rockauto). So I can´t compare it.
