There may be better options than an overweight repurposed 12v hydraulic pump.

I have been thinking about if that would work or not. Cog drive it off the crank.

Gear it so its at the optimum rpm when the truck is in its peak rpm range.

Our dual nozzle water injection kit dropped our EGT on our 354 Perkins 300F. Very Notable power improvement as well, but the could be from no IC and the water cooling the intake charge.
