Lift kit for a Chevy

I am pretty new here and I was looking for some advice on a lift kit for a friend of mines 2008 Chevy 3500 duramax. The guy wants to clear 35's but still wants to keep the ride quality. So my question is what size, brand and type of shocks should I go with?
